I did some surfing on www.archive.org and stumbled
down memory lane to find my first website ever. I started mphiles.com in 1999 as a sandbox
to develop my web skills. With it I managed to learn quite a bit about the medium - from coding
to managing a Linux box and Apache web server.
Some time ago, I missed reminders warning of the impending expiration of my domain
(the first one I've ever owned! I wasn't finished learning lessons yet. To my surprise, some
dirtbag domain squatter scooped up my (nicely indexed) domain and sat on it forever. After
a trip down memory lane, I thought to check to see if it was still held hostage. You're reading this,
so you know I got it back. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I'm considering bringing
the original server back to life and hosting the music again. There's lots of work to be done. I think
that server was running Redhat 7.1 or some similar vintage. Yes, I know most of the links are dead. In time
that may change. Stay tuned.
